Hey church!

What  an  incredible season it’s been! It was a joy to celebrate the crucifixion of Jesus with other downtown churches on Good Friday and celebrate the resurrection with you all on Easter Sunday. We ended up baptizing 33 people—each one a powerful testimony of God’s power to save. This is a busy and beautiful time in the life of our church and we have so much to be thankful for. 

As we move forward, I’m excited to share some important updates with you:

Elder Candidate

On Sunday, May 4th we will be presenting our next Governing Elder candidate for Covenant Members to vote on at the beginning of June. The raising up of Elders is incredibly important in the life of a local church. Please join us in prayer as we seek God’s direction in this process.

Key Dates to Note:

• Sunday, May 4, 2025 – Announcement and introduction video of the candidate
• Sunday, May 25, 2025 @ 1 PM – Meet & Greet in the Commons: Come meet the candidate and his family, hear his story, and ask any questions you may have.
• Sunday, June 8, 2025 – Covenant Members will vote on the proposed candidate.

Please Note: Only Covenant Members are eligible to vote. Keep an eye on your inbox for further details and be sure to attend the gathering on June 8th.

Update on Giving

As we near the end of our fiscal year, we want to take a moment to share another update on our financial giving. At this point, contributions have come in below our projected expectations, and we are currently not meeting our budgeted income. We’re deeply grateful for the continued generosity of so many, but the gap between our financial needs and the actual giving has resulted in a shortfall.

Here is a summary of our current financial position:

• Budgeted Income (Year-to-Date): $ 3,333,003.55
  
• Actual Income (Year-to-Date): $ 3,063,322.24 
• Shortfall (Year to Date): $(269,681.31)
• Income needed to budgeted year end target: $1,792,425.93

As we move into the final stretch, we’re asking for your continued support to help us meet our budgeted target and to please prayerfully consider how you might contribute with a year-end gift. Donations can be made online at centrechurch.ca/give, by mail, or in person during Sunday gatherings.
