Communications Manager

The Communications Manager ensures that Centre Church uses creative and effective avenues of communication for Centre Church. This position works with the media team to shape culture at Centre Church, developing creative ways to bring high level theological concepts into concrete day-to-day examples for the church body in every ministry area, communicating the Centre Church mission, vision, and values, helping the body see the “why” behind what we’re calling them to, and thinking about how communications shapes the way people think about the church and how they fit into it.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION: 

  • Execute all communications for Centre Church with excellence, clarity, and attention-to-detail so that the church body is informed, up-to-date, and connected.
  • Ensure that all communications have a consistent tone that is conversational, friendly, and clear.
  • Coordinate with Centre Church staff to ensure that the right information is communicated to the body via Centre Church communication channels in a timely manner.
  • Manage Centre Church’s social media channels and online presence, develop engaging, strategic content that helps people to connect with the church.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital strategy and content calendar that includes website, social media channels, and email newsletters.
  • Ensure that all language and communication coming from Centre Church is theologically consistent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all communications fit the Centre Church tone and voice
  • Writes copy and edits for both digital and print media
  •  Manages updates and changes to web pages, as well as creates new pages
  • Creates communications plans/schedules for digital content on all platforms and the website, including social media and newsletter
  • Curates photos and stories from staff, ministry leaders and others in the church to share through communication channels
  • Develops volunteer teams to produce content, making sure volunteers have focused projects and tasks
  • Manages internal campaigns and projects, maintaining project schedules and deliverables
  • Creates a marketing plan for events and campaigns within the ministry, including paid advertising
  • Works with the media team and ministry leaders to create marketing plans for their areas
  • Makes strategic communication decisions and manages competing priorities within the ministry

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated writing skills and experience in managing consistent tone and style across multiple communication channels
  • Excellent at proofing and editing written content
  • Experience managing both organic social media channels and paid marketing
  • Experienced in creating strategic communications plans and developing content strategy
  • Proficient in using Photoshop and InDesign and PremierePro and/or Davinci Resolve
  • Familiarity with Illustrator and the rest of the Adobe Suite is an asset
  • Experience leading and managing teams is an asset
  • Able to meet deadlines, execute assigned tasks, and follow-through on projects from start to finish
  • Attention to detail
  • Has a good theological understanding and is theologically aligned with Centre Church
  • Experience adapting communications tactics to fit an organizational culture
  • Is able to work quickly and deliver on time
  • Experience with analytics is an asset
  • Experience in photography or video is an asset.

Personal Qualifications

  • Is a follower of Jesus, having recognized and repented of personal sin and is baptized with an understanding of the gospel. The individual’s life clearly demonstrates a high level of spiritual maturity.
  • Is growing in Christ-likeness demonstrating a commitment to spirit (heart, will) transformation through the disciplines (prayer, study, giving, fasting, solitude, confession, unity, worship, etc.).
  • Should have a clear sense of God’s calling to ministry at Centre Church with much passion for the calling.
  • Aligns with Centre Church’s mission, values, and statement of faith, understanding that all ministries do not stand alone, but fit in under the umbrella of Centre Church’s vision and goals.

$52,500 – 60,000
