Kids’ Ministry Associate

Overview

The Kids’ Ministry Associate plays a vital role in supporting the kids’ ministry program at Westside Church. The Kids’ Ministry Associate will work collaboratively with the Kids’ Minister, and is responsible for assisting in the organization and implementation of programs and activities that engage and nurture the spiritual growth of children from infancy through elementary age.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Sunday School
    • Set up for classes and prepare for Sunday School
    • Ensure the safety of the children, volunteers, and the parents according to the policy, protocols and emergency procedures
    • Ensure the Sunday School runs smoothly for the children, volunteers and parents
    • Step into classrooms to fill in the ratios when needed
    • Flip the classrooms including the Commons for the next ministry use
  • Assist the Childrens Minister and participate in outreach (i.e. The Maker’s (musical program), Kids Camp, Easteravaganza, Jingle Jam)

Qualifications

  • 1+ years experience in a church or ministry setting (preferably) 
  • 1+ years experience working and leading volunteer teams  (preferably)
  • Music, art and creative skills (preferably)
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work with competing priorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Ability to be flexible in terms of work hours due to the nature of gatherings and various ministry events 
  • Criminal record check
  • Plan to Protect certificate

Details

Contract Length
Part time (10-20 hrs a week), 3 month contract (with possibility of extension)

Location

On-site work in Vancouver, BC

Salary Range
$17.50 – 21.00/ hr
